Meet the team
James Ballantyne is the Principal of the Ballantyne Law Group. Following his admission as a Solicitor in 2002 James has worked in key roles at some of Queensland’s leading commercial and property law firms. Based on the Gold Coast for the past decade, James has developed a strong practice in commercial and property law with a strong focus on small to medium enterprise.
Admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia, James is able to provide practical, pragmatic and effective legal advice in plain English.
Kathy Rundle is an Associate with Ballantyne Law Group. Kathy is originally from Melbourne, where she was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2004. Kathy has worked in large and small law firms and in the Supreme Court of Victoria, with a focus on commercial law, estates and litigation.
Kathy has been living on the Gold Coast for five years and has two children. Kathy has a love for sport, in particular Athletics and the Western Bulldogs in the AFL.

Sidnee is a Law Graduate with Ballantyne Law Group. She graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2018 been working as a conveyancer since. She joined our team in January 2020 and currently looks after the firm’s residential conveyancing matters, and provides paralegal support to the firm.
Sidnee graduated High School and University on the Gold Coast and loves playing sports, going to the beach, and binge-watching Netflix
Enid Van Jaarsveld
Enid is a paralegal with Ballantyne Law Group and offers assistance to the solicitors in the office. She has been with the firm since 2017 starting as a junior administrative assistant. Enid is currently completing her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Business at Griffith University. In addition to her academic success, Enid has also completed internships with the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and UniGames Australia.
Enid enjoys spending her time outdoors and being active with friends.
Junior Administrative Assistant
Toby is a junior administrative assistant with Ballantyne Law Group. He has been with the firm since October 2019 starting as an intern. Toby is currently completing his double degree in Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce at Griffith University.
Toby is an avid baker and his treats are thoroughly enjoyed by the office. He also practices Brazilian Jiu Jitsu recreationally.
